To call my brother in law lazy for not picking buggy/child up when it tipped over

Sat watching older children playing pool one evening on holiday this week and the buggy tipped backwards (right next to him) due to the weight of a heavy bag balanced on the back.

His son is in there screaming (19 mths) and he just sits there and expects my mum to deal with it, which she does.

I call him lazy and he gets stroppy with me saying - wait for it - "its not lazy, I'm in a predicament here. I've got a bottle in my hand".

I was astounded and just said 'what your beer is more important than your son' and had to walk off. I would go mental if my husband did that, wouldn't you?

He was closest and he has 2 hands, correct?

Not sure I'd go mental, but it is a bit, hmmm.

wtf???????????

tbh if dp did that i would take the bottle out his hand and pour it over his head {after i picked dd up of course }

and then leave dp on his own. after which i wouldve caught the bus home - i can't drive yet - and then proceed to throw his bags out. because if his beer more important than dd, he can go.

Sadly, I've known men with that attitude. Sad becuase their poor kids have to grow up coming in second place to their beer, football and ego.

However, have to say your mum is equally to blame on this one - e wouldn't have expected her to deal with it if she hadn't brought him up to think he could expect her too.

Idiot, you are right!

ffs I would expect ANYONE to right the buggy whether it was their child in there in it!!!!!!
would have pored the beer over his head

OMG! Some men seem to expect their mums to do everything for them. What an arse.
