To wonder why people are so loud

My house, my garden, a field.

People in the field talking.

I can hear every word. Not shouting, just speaking like they are auditioning for a school play.

Why???

No bloody idea! Fucking annoying!

Dad on a train yesterday was unbelievably loud to his DD sitting inches away .....

SluttyButty · 06/08/2018 17:27

I can hear one set of neighbours, in their kitchen with the window slightly open, I'm getting the washing in and about 25ft away from them. Every word of their conversation I could hear, every word.
Be quiet people, talk in a normal voice for the love of god. And if that is your normal voice then take voice quietening lessons Grin

CardsforKittens · 06/08/2018 17:29

SORRY! I'LL TRY TO KEEP IT DOWN.

landoflostcontent · 06/08/2018 17:31

If you live near me tattoo it is because the way the houses, road, etc are arranged it forms a kind of amphitheatre effect so I can hear what is being said by anyone walking past, on a doorstep yards and yards away etc . It is as clear as if they were in the room with me and it is not as if they are talking loudly. It also means they can hear me...

NonaGrey · 06/08/2018 17:33

Some people have voices that naturally carry.

Some people might be slightly deaf.

Some people are just a bit incompetent socially.

Racecardriver · 06/08/2018 17:37

Are they a bit spaced out in the field therefore telling at each other?

TheConstantMoaner · 06/08/2018 17:38

Ds And dh speak very loud and it’s odd because they’re introverts. I have to keep asking them to keep it down. It gets Especially bad when they’re telling a story and they get over excited. Grin

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 06/08/2018 17:42

Ah it must be Loud Dad who lives near us! I've not heard him today so he must have gone for a day out to the field near you.

CakeNinja · 06/08/2018 17:45

Blimey, you might be listening to dp, sorry!
He’s so bloody loud, we are always telling him to talk quietly, turn the telly/music down etc but his ears are a bit crap and he refuses to get them syringed or whatever it is that needs doing so he doesn’t hear as well as the rest of us.
Still fucking annoying though, I hate it when people are loud, god knows how I haven’t killed him already!

RaspberryRipple1963 · 06/08/2018 17:48

A group of 4 men got on the bus I was on yesterday. After about 5 minutes,I felt like putting my fingers in my ears because one of these guys had such a loud voice,it seemed to penetrate right through my skull and make my ears hurt. I just felt sorry people who have to live with him.

luckycat007 · 06/08/2018 18:24

I'm with you OP. It's unbearable at this time of the year especially.

PaintBySticker · 06/08/2018 18:26

Opened this thread in fear that you’re staying next to us at our holiday rental. My son is the loudest person I know. I don’t know why. I’m sorry.

PaintBySticker · 06/08/2018 18:27

It’s not necessarily a hearing issue. Husband is deaf in one ear. He’s not loud.

delphguelph · 06/08/2018 18:28

Dunno.
