Probably been done before...however here goes: photo 1 anon. sitting enjoying the beach with a wind break for comfort.

Photo 2 and 3 carving out a piece of beach the size of the Vatican. Then disappearing after 30+mins of hammering. DH said "It sounds like a building site around here." It is happening every day.

Is this territory marking human nature? It's not something we've ever done. It is annoying DH who finds it self-centred and unnecessary. Is DH BU..?

I've been on a beach, with people like this. I think it's hilarious when they mark out their territory the size of a small kingdom, and as the beach fills up and people start spreading out they end up with a patch the size of a beach mat.

I live at a seaside resort so know exactly what you're talking about haha! You're DH is not bu, it's ridiculous everyone fencing themselves in on a public beach!

Iknow what you mean! If you think windbreak territory-marking is bad on the beach, try a campsite! Some amazingly complex boundary-marking goes on around people who are determined not an inch of their patch should be strayed on by the people in the next tent!

Its the beach equivalent of marking a lounger with your towel the night before.
