To see a doctor about my toe..

About 3 weeks ago I stubbed my big toe and it was agony. But the pain never really went away. I woke up the next day and it was really stiff and it's absolute hell to try and bend it and even worse if I try and stretch / spread my toes. It also really hurts if I move my foot into certain positions. If my foot is still there's a constant dull ache in my toe which makes me feel sick.

It's a weird pain that I can't really describe when I'm moving it, a cross between pushing hard on a big bruise and having a pulled muscle I guess, but it's been 3 weeks and it's getting worse. It's not overly swollen but my god the pain.

It seems trivial to go to the doctor and use their time over a stubbed toe but it's got to a point where it's really unpleasant to walk and drive.

Should I leave it longer and see if t gets better on its own? That way my plan but it's been weeks.. Or just call and see a doctor?

Are you taking regular painkillers?

Littlewhitedove · 06/08/2018 08:43

Could you have dislocated it? Toes are incredibly painful. If you have a minor injuries walk-in centre near to you I would go there. You could be doing more damage by not going. I have done this to my little toe before so I feel your pain.

Not trivial if the pain and lack of movement are affecting everyday activities. Yes to GP, or physio if you can self-refer.

Surely a minor injuries unit would be better than the GP?
