Help!!! Worried about toddler DS!! (Pic included)

Sorry - this is not an AIBU and I’m only posting here for traffic.

I just found 19 month old DS with parts of my headphones in his mouth! He sometimes picks it up and puts it around his neck in an attempt to copy me, but he has never chewed on it. I was just finishing up some work and he was sitting and watching Pappa and when I came for him, I saw the black ring (see pic please) in his mouth.
Both the tiny pieces in the pic are missing edges and I’m pretty sure he has swallowed them.

What do I do? I’m currently not in the UK. Shall I take him to a paediatrician? Does he need an X-ray to see where the pieces are inside him? The pieces are all tiny, but I’m worried about them being pointed and causing damage.
Or am I overthinking this and it won’t do him any harm?

I feel terrible Sad... I should have let him have his dummy and then none of this would have happened!

TIA.

If any of it is battery/ any possibility of battery seek medical attention now.

MumNeedsTea · 06/08/2018 06:04

Thanks! I don’t think any of it was battery as it was mostly the outer covering that he was chewing on. I’ll take him to a paediatrician either ways.
Thinking about it, not sure an cry would help as even if we do see it inside him, there is nothing that they would do for a tiny piece unless it started causing problems Confused

I personally wouldn’t worry about that, any pieces will come out in his poo

LotsToThinkOf · 06/08/2018 06:45

I wouldn't worry - it will all come out, but I'd definitely have him checked out just in case of any complications.

MumNeedsTea · 06/08/2018 07:00

Thanks all! Luckily we have a doctor in my parents’ apartment complex and he came over to check DS. He said we don’t need to worry about anything as nothing is stuck in his throat and the pieces that he swallowed won’t harm him and will just pass through his poo.
Phew!!!

I will continue to keep a close eye on DS in case he develops any complications.

My DS once ate half a plastic fork. The advice was that you should keep an eye on him and check that it's come out the other end. It wouldn't show up in an x-ray anyway and they wouldn't do anything except for wait anyway.
