To ask about private health insurance?

Anyone that has private health insurance, can you tell me roughly how much is costs and what is covered? I've tried looking online but it's a minefield! We would like it for mys and dh and three kids. I assume pre existing conditions aren't covered? Dd is only 15 months and we are waiting two months for ent appointment, think she needs grommets and it seems a long wait to even get to see someone. Any help appreciated!

I get mine through work - it costs them about £1100 per year and it does cover pre-existing conditions. I imagine it costs more as a stand-alone product though.

But actually, for kids stuff I've always gone NHS. Paediatric consultants are thin on the ground here, but we do have a dedicated children's hospital.
