to ask advice about festivalling with kids?

We are day festivalling at the Cambridge folk festival this Saturday and Sunday. We will travel in each day by car or bus (not sure about journey time from where we are staying). Two adults and four kids, including a breastfeeding 5 month old baby and a toddler. I've been there before moons ago without children, but need advice on how to play things to make it as easy as possible, please. Do we set up somewhere for the day with one adult always staying put, or roam about the whole day long? Is it kosher to take chairs for easier feeding if you're camped out on the periphery of the main stage (obviously not right in front!), or do people not take kindly to chairs placed anywhere with a line of sight of the stages? What about a pram - just a hassle, or worth taking with? It'll be hot so I'm worried about sling wearing the whole day; or is it too crammed in there to be wheeling a pram around? Any other tips appreciated. First time festivalling with both older kids and little ones! TIA.

Done sort of transport for the kids would be useful and is very common at festivals (pull along wagon/bike trailer). Doesn't need to fit them all as they can take turns. You can dump your stuff in it. Done festivals hire out wagons so worth a cheque. Stick a blanket or 2 in it. Good idea to have battery operated fairy lights to string over it when it gets dark so people can see it.

'Some sort'

Worth a 'check'. Damn autocorrect.

You'll be fine. Cambridge is awash with chairs and people setting up camp for the day in one place with chairs and blankets.

We've "festivalled" with our 2 since they were babes in arms. Not the one you mention but Green Man and EOTR. Our Phil and Teds double decker style was excellent in knee deep mud and blistering heat. I wouldn't put a 5 month old in a festival wagon, bit too rickety, although they are great for toddlers and older, and often have a drop down side so you can use them as a small sofa (for feeding). Either way I'd take sling/carrier too if you have a minimal one. Chairs seem to be acceptable off the main drag/thoroughfares but not at night. Have fun.
