Another manhole cover one

We've recently bought a property as a holiday let. Got a call from the holidaymakers and they said drain is blocked, I arranged for drain guy to go there.

He dealt with it swiftly and easily.

However, the man hole cover is 98% on neighbours part of shared drive and tiny bit on ours. She's called the agency I let through to say someone was trespassing on her property. She wasn't in at the time it was being cleared as the guy knocked.

I think she's unhappy that the property is being let if truth be told, but we are not attached to her, our doors face each other and the drive is in two parts but sort of all one IYSWIM.

Drain man (who was lovely!) advises she can't stop access to the man hole, although it's mostly on her drive it's partly on ours and can be lifted.

She chose to ring the agent and not me, they called me and I rung her. She said I should've given her notice, but to be fair I had no idea where the issue was and that the man hole cover would need to be lifted!

MN Jury your thoughts?

Oh, I think we’re going to need a diagram....
From what I understand of your post, you have a shared driveway and your neighbour has most of the manhole on her half?

Tell her if she feels so strongly that it is her manhole she can reimburse you for having it cleared.

icelollycraving · 03/08/2018 14:19

I’d ignore it. So he took a step or two over the drive? What’s she going to do?!

Flightbite · 03/08/2018 14:19

@Rainagain1 exactly! Next time I'll let the shite overflow on her drive! 😂

I think she doesn't like us have guests TBH! But it's for a short time team over the summer holidays (six weeks) three lots are family and the other three are all people with younger children. They won't be having wild parties. The rest of the time it's empty during the week and only occupied at weekends!

Yes probably best to ignore, but why she called the letting company when she has our number......
