To ask about chat line work?

My username says it all really. Ex partner has left me in financial shit and I can't see any other way out than doing something like this. Has anyone done adult chat lines for extra cash and can give any advice? Thanks in advance

I'm sure they still exist but I'd be surprised if the number of people using them is substantial. With free grot of any persuasion easily available online I'd assume the arse fell out of the phone sex thing years ago.

I'm even considering webcam work 😭

I’m sure that the chat lines still exist, but as a pp said there may not be much call for them or workers anymore. I’d imagine though that they’re more popular amongst the elderly (some of whom can’t use the Internet), and those with certain disabilities.
Make a few enquiries and see how you get on.

As for the web cam work, I’d be worried that I’d be identified in my community and/or that it’d affect future employment prospects. Is there nothing else that you could do?

Good luck to you op. I’m sorry to hear about your situation, and wish you all the very best.

What are your skills and where do you live?

To be honest, based on threads about this in the past I wonder if there are more practical things that would bring in urgent cash - ironing, cleaning, pet-sitting etc.

My dc's piano teacher told me recently that she makes more money pet-sitting, of all things, than teaching piano. She and her husband did some flyering and put up some signs in local shops and the requests came flying in.

£20 printing a stack of flyers, a couple of evenings putting them in letterboxes around you offering ironing, cleaning, pet-sitting or plant-watering (it's holiday season after all) or all of the above as a sort of "house-keeper on call" service will almost certainly yield more than online sex work.

Apart from anything else, you will be paid a pittance doing online sex work, and on an hourly rate, you can't compete with a woman in eastern Europe or Asia. Then you have to wait for the money to reach your account etc. At least with house-keeping related work you can ask to be paid in cash. Sort out your taxes later on if you decide to keep at it.

Hi skintandworried, i have been there a still wearing the bomber jacket so posted to ask if me starting a company was wrong in the way of exploiting myself and the ladies i hire. My previous job was advising staff on their role Nationwide, however since being diagnosed with Chronic Lupus, i spend my days staring at Jeremy Kyle or Judge Judy wondering what if, whilst struggling with the monthly bills. I have tried making craft items to sell on Ebay and Etsy but my fingers and hands hurt from the fine motor skills and constant staring at gem application. So if i can get my head around keeping from my family, then i think i will give it a try unless anyone else has any other suggestions?
