To panic over tax credits?

I stupidly got halfway through renewing my tax credits online last week and got distracted by some drama with the kids and forgot to go back and finish it. Just had a moment of realisation and freaked out. I've completed the renewal online now and I've had an email to say it's been received and being processed. My tax credits payments are still showing as due to be paid into my account next week.

I called up tax credits and the man i spoke to said he could see the renewal had been done and that it 'should' be fine and the payment schedule was the same but I'm freaking out - all the info always says your payments will stop if you don't renew by the deadline. My tax credits are due in my back on Tuesday and I have enough money till then but if they're stopped I'll be up the proverbial creek!!

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I'm so cross with myself as I'm usually really good about such things and if the money doesn't come in on Tuesday I'm going to be really stuck

I was the same, started it previously and didn't come back and finish and send it until yesterday after they sent a text reminder. Mine was due to be paid into my account today and there's nothing. Am hoping that it goes in on a different day next week or I'm stuffed and can't pay my rent which is due on monday. Am fed up with myself for forgetting something so important.

dancingfeet Have you tried phoning them?

If you look at your tax credits online it says your next payment date www.gov.uk/manage-your-tax-credits
