Smoking in cars with DC?

Not asking if the smoking itself is unreasonsble (clearly it is, indeed afaik it's illegal now?) but if you saw it would you say anything? My DP does. I do respect him for speaking out (fwiw he does it whether it's a man or woman) but worry at some point he will end up on the end of some one aggression...last time he said it to a bloke at traffic lights he got called a cunt and told to watch himself.

So is he BU to do It?

Yes of course

Does he run around pointing out every single illegal thing strangers do?

If so it must be exhausting and in my area anyway, likely to get him a smack in the mouth, sadly.

Well, yes he is. He’s not a law enforcer is he?

He is an ex smoker. He never smoked in front of his DC though, either in house or car and it's something he feels really strongly about. For some reason in our area that and people holding mobile phones as they drive 60k cars (which surely must have hands free) are very frequent.

He is pretty live and let live and liberal in other respects but it's the fact children are being exposed to this without a choice that gets to him.

He is a very big bloke which I think is why no one has ever assaulted him. He does also say it politely- doesn't shout or swear. Which again catches people off guard.

I do still worry though.

This happened again yesterday, although this time the person in the car just ignored him rather than giving a load of abuse.
