TV Secrets... Judge Rinder

Seeing all the other threads has made me think of a few questions of my own!

Do you know anyone who has been on Judge Rinder? Does the TV programme pay for appearances? Do they cover the Rinder's judgements?

There’s a statement in the closing credits about judgements being paid for by the TV company.

I think TV courts all work the same.
Judge Judy is the best. I've read that they have the people appearing sign a legally binding contract that ties them to abide by Judy's ruling. But the production team pays the award anyway and puts those appearing up in a nice hotel and pays travel expenses etc.

Don't look at how much Judy gets paid tho.. it'll make your eyes water.. loo

I often provide the employment law advice in disciplinary cases. One senior manager said I was “brilliant, just like Judge Judy” when advising him on a case. Career highlight. Grin

I think Judge Judy is worth over £100 million. The programme is sold all over the world!

My neice had a problem with her neighbour's snake getting into her daughter's bedroom. Everything was ok, the story was in a magazine.
They were asked to go on Judge Rinder and would be been paid for it but as there was no issues between them and the neighbours they refused.

If the programme pays the money, why are the defendants bothered whether the ruling goes against them? Are they acting?

ImAGoofyGoober · 02/08/2018 12:04

I was in the audience once!
He’s very strict, likes a lot of attention and applause.

Are they acting?

Yes! Usually very badly!
