To miss Denise Robertson?

The beautiful lady from Sunderland who was the TV 'agony aunt'?

She had such a big heart.

She used to have a free advice website called 'Dear Denise' - does anyone remember it? It still ran on for a while after she passed but one day just disappeared.

She would personally respond to and help every single person who posted with a problem., sometimes in the early hours of the morning. All this despite being busy writing, being involved in other causes and obviously with her own family.

I have often found myself wondering what Denise would advise me to do when I have a tricky problem. I think she is the mother figure I wanted but never had.

Does anyone else feel the same about Denise or any 'celebrity' who has passed on whom they never actually met?

She really seemed like a lovely person. She had been through a lot personally as well, which meant she could really relate to others.

I really miss Terry Pratchett. No more new books to look forward to. Still haven’t read the last one, I’m saving it until I get used to the the idea.

Sounds daft as I never met him and I’m sure his real friends and family miss him more.

Yes , of course, notevilstepmother the real loss is to the families and friends. Some people matter more to us than other's don't they? Even in the case of people we don't actually personally know.

I miss Denise Robertson too- she was like a Mum to me, more of a Mum than my biological one.

I miss the website as it was like my family- the support was incredible and I haven't found anything like it since.

I'm pleased I sent her a thank you card, although I'm sure she received so many, my card barely registered,

I still miss her
