AIBU to apply for Coach Trip, or will it be a horrible, scripted experience like the other two shows discussed?

I seriously love coach trip and Brendon!
Hate the new style of them with just younger people however - really boring!

Does anyone remember the couple who got voted off straight away? I seem to recall that they came back on another series and again for voted off the first day they were there :(

Oh, DH and I LOVE Coach Trip! It's our guilty pleasure show! It hasn't been as good since they started having all young couples, though. But please go on it and tell us all about it!

I loved the olden days of Coach Trip where they pitted hipsters and pensions against each other in a fight to the death.

It's not so good now.

@PippaPug - I remember that couple. Or a couple that were voted off and came back. They kind of deserved to be voted off if I remember, but then they were upset and begged for a second chance so they came back and were just as bad the second time.

I would have loved to know what Brendan thought about getting them back.

And half of Scooch were on it once.

I was probably the only person outside of Scooch to be excited about that

My all time favourite coach trip episode is when Gay Bruce lost it and started screeching "I just can't Staaaand ye" at another gay man he'd taken an inexplicable dislike to.

Best show ever! I've been begging DH to come on with me for years but it's a no go. If anyone needs a partner, I'll do it!! Deffo don't want to be a solo traveller

I LOVE Coachtrip. I've always said if I were to go on any show, it would be Coachtrip. I like all the older series and always rewatch when they're on.
I liked the ones with the couple who were aunt and niece, the aunt was really outgoing and gregarious and the niece had a thing going on with Winter (I think he was called).
Someone come on and tell us some filming secrets please!

I remember the first series, BlancheM! I haven't watched Coach Trip for a while, but I was once semi-addicted. I remember a thread on Digital Spy, I think, where a few contestants joined the thread (assuming they were legit).

One contestant said that as part of the group audition, they had to do a mock vote and "vote off" a pair. This contestant said that he and his travel partner were voted off by the group, so they knew they'd get on the show. Another contestant chipped in to say that they'd also been voted off in their audition. So there's a tip in there somewhere. I reckon it involves pissing people off by being loud/wacky/argumentative etc.

I think another tip is that you'd need a very, very thick skin. Could you take being voted off by people who might make it very personal or who might be playing tactical games? Would you mind your most embarrassing moments being repeated on TV in five years time? I'd love to visit some of these places but I'm not brave enough to go on the show. It can get very nasty, and no doubt this is stirred up by the production team.

Ooh that's interesting, so the selection process was a rejection process. I reckon I could get on it then, but no one would agree to go on with me 😂 I always wonder how people fix it to get the time off work when they don't know how long they'll last on the show aswell?!
I used to get excited when they stopped off in any of the cities I'd lived in/been to.

I once applied to go on Coach Trip. It was like an email Blaine dating questionnaire then a telephone interview but we didn’t get through to the later stages. I think it was for the best really, given how car sick I get.

My parents were on coach trip, lasted nearly four weeks. It’s not scripted as such but they film the vote off several times and if they feel you’re not being blunt enough they re do it again and again until you’re suitably wound up

Not memorable, most exciting thing they did was fly off a Segway. Think it was 2009/2010.

My friend and I once invited two guys back to our flat for an after-night out bevvy. One of them tried to strangle me with my scarf being 'kinky' while the other peed in my friend's bin. Few months later the strangler turned up on Coach Trip!

I was part of the CT thread on digital spy and it really was people that were on the coach that joined the thread as well.
