Date not replied - what shall I do?

Posting for traffic. Looking to get peoples' view on a situation I've found myself in today.

Met someone Online, been chatting for a few weeks... seems nice etc.

Arranged last week to meet him today after I've finished work.

BUT my work plans have changed and I now can't meet him at the time we agreed!

I have messaged this morning asking if we could shift the time. I still want to meet. But no response! Doesn't look like it's been read, either.

What would you do? And what should I do?!

I'd wait a couple of days then if I still hadn't heard I might send another message using a different format. If nothing then, I'd leave it.

Possibly. But he's messaged me from work before so not sure if it's just a coincidence it's today he's gone quiet.

And no, not phoned. We've not chatted on the phone before.

Haha ok point taken. Suppose I'm overthinking about it a bit too much.

If it makes any difference, it's not too far off the time I was supposed to be meeting him. If he's not read my message part of me thinks he might just turn up and I'm not there which I'd hate to happen.

Can you leave a message with the venue just in case he hasn't got your message, e.g. forgot his phone today?

Chill out! When you don’t turn up he will obviously check his phone and see your message. He will either stay or he will think it isn’t worth it and leave. Most people would check their phone before leaving for a meeting though so I’m sure he will read it. Let us know!

He could be in a meeting or with a client/customer or might not have his phone on him.

He’s maybe not seen it yet if busy with work OR you changing the time at short notice makes it look like your not interested/messing him about as you get a lot of that with online dating and he just isn’t going to reply.

Best way to online date, meet within a few days of talking so you don’t over invest for weeks

I wouldn't meet someone if I hadn't spoken to them on the phone. I think if I don't like his voice, no point in meeting up.
