CHRISTMAS!!!

AIBU to start thinking about presents?

I know it’s months away but I’m already panicking about my budget and what to get every one. I was thinking about doing hampers for my parents and their partners, filled with homemade goodies, bottle of wine (or two), framed picture of the grandkids and maybe something else but I’m not sure what 😫

If I start saving now I could probably spend £50 on each one.

SneakyGremlins · 30/07/2018 20:25

How do I do the santa smiley?

Bambamber · 30/07/2018 20:27

I've already got all my daughter's presents Blush

She's young enough that she will play with anything so I just grab things when on offer Grin

If you're panicking about budget can you not just spend less? Do you have any siblings? If so do a joint hamper so you both fill it so it costs less?

Stephisaur · 30/07/2018 20:27

My mum has already started her shopping. I’ll need to start soon as DC1 is due on December 17th 😂 might be a bit busy this year!

Seasawride · 30/07/2018 20:27

Op can I say cunt as that’s my c word.

Best thing we ever ever did was email all our relatives and say no more gifts this year. Cards only. All responded enthusiastically so we just buy for immediate family members under 16 and that’s it. There’s 2! Happy days

Bloody brilliant.

ByeGermsByeWorries · 30/07/2018 20:28

I love Christmas Grin

PanPanPanPing · 30/07/2018 20:29

Well, there's [santa] (which is already on the MN smiley's list), or any smiley with a Father Christmas hat Xmas Grin Xmas Smile Xmas Wink Xmas Sad - so do them like this, for example, [ fgrin ] but without the spaces

DesperatelySeekingSnoozing · 30/07/2018 20:32

I'm finished apart from the grown up secret Santa which we'll draw for at the end of November Grin

LouiseEH · 30/07/2018 20:35

Thanks for the link for the Christmas thread, will definitely take a look 😁

I love Christmas too, this year I’m going to attempt to make a gingerbread house!

I’ve been told I’m mad for thinking about Christmas so soon 😂

motortroll · 30/07/2018 20:45

I just bought some bits as my daughter loves her converse stuff so I've bought in the sports direct sale 3 items for the usual price of 1!! She's going to be well chuffed!

"Thanks for the link for the Christmas thread, will definitely take a look"

It's not a thread - it's an entire separate topic devoted to Christmas all year round, for those who are mad about Christmas Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

Honestly i feel hampers are nice in theory but in reality cost too much to put together . And yay Christmas
