To expect DH to stop trying to make me eat Curry?

I have Aspergers Syndrome and one of my sensory problems is i can't eat spices of any kind, sometimes even Basil can be too much for me to tolerate so i have to be careful with what i'm eating.

Yet, despite being with DH for 6 years and explaining this to him over and over and OVER again, he still keeps trying to get me to eat curry or chilli or other spicey foods.

I wouldn't mind if it was just "do you want to try this" but he keeps pushing, it doesn't matter how often i tell him NO or how nicely i say it, he keeps.on.pushing. Then gets all in a huff because i end up snapping at him.

I'm not stopping him from eating it, he's quite capable of making himself a curry.. heck i'll even make it for him and do myself something else.. so why is it so hard for him to just leave me the fuck alone over this???

YANBU at all! What reasons does he give for persisting with this?

Why don't you pretend to eat some (my old childhood trick of putting food into my mouth, then waiting till no-one was looking & dropping it unchewed from my mouth to my hand & then transferring it to my napkin), then jump up from the table with your hand to your mouth, rush to the loo, make being sick noises & then come back to the table with a martyred look on your face, saying 'I'm sorry darling, it just doesn't agree with me.' Childish but effective.

He calls it trying to expand my palette... and because he feels bad if he's got a cooked dinner and i'm making do with Beans on Toast.

Hey.. i LIKE beans on toast, its not like i'm going to starve, lol, there is plenty of me to waste away..

I try to be adventurous, i've got quite good at adapting recipies so they're edible for me, although quite a lot are very bland when you de-spice them, lol.

Sauce, because i've never reacted like that to anything spicey, lol. It just really sets my mouth on fire and leaves me in pain.

I react to simple spices like i've just been chewing the hottest chilli pepper in existence.

Well I haven't got Aspergers and I HATE anything spicy including sausages

Dh makes his own curry, usually a bucket full! then freezes it.

Tell him to bog off!
