Went to a hen do last night and got home in the early hours of this morning rather the worse for wear. I realised DH was fast asleep and I had a problem. I couldn't get my dress off without help. Should I have woken him up or slept in my dress?

I’d have woken him.

This is based on the fact that my DP cannot have a night out without waking me in the early hours though. So I’d relish the opportunity.

PurpleDaisies · 29/07/2018 15:04

I’d have slept in the dress. I wouldn’t have wanted to be woken up by him in the same circumstances.

John4703 · 29/07/2018 15:08

I'd have been happy to help my wife, it's part of marriage to help each other.

JacquesHammer · 29/07/2018 15:08

Slept in the dress.

Amanduh · 29/07/2018 16:18

Slept in the dress. If it was the other way round and ‘drunken childish dh came in at 3am and woke me up demanding my help undressing himself’ mn would have a field day 😂

SugarIsAmazing · 29/07/2018 16:21

I would have loudly announced "HEEELLLOOOO I'M HOME!!" in a fit of giggles before even realising I couldn't get out of my dress.

IHeartKingThistle · 29/07/2018 16:54

DH says in the same circumstances he'd be happy to be woken up if I then made it up to him Wink

ReservoirDogs · 29/07/2018 16:59

Slept in dress

Rebecca36 · 29/07/2018 17:12

I don't understand why you couldn't get your dress off.
No you shouldn't have woken him up, it's not his fault. Mind you, knowing men they soon go back to sleep.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 29/07/2018 17:16

Slept in the dress

OwlinaTree · 29/07/2018 17:17

I'd have slept in the dress.

aliceinchunderland1 · 29/07/2018 17:20

Woken him up, my DH wouldn't have wanted me to be uncomfortable all night and he'd soon fall back to sleep

ch0c0milkrox · 29/07/2018 17:26

Woken him up Smile

IKnowItsTIMHONKSTIMHONKS · 29/07/2018 17:28

I'd have woken him if I was sober but depending how drunk I was I'd have probably thought fuck it and slept in the dress

ALemonyPea · 29/07/2018 17:30

I would have giggled all the way upstairs, then fallen in the bed and woken DH to help, while still giggling.

Did you wake your DH and did he get cross? Is that why you’re asking for help?

NerrSnerr · 29/07/2018 17:36

I'd have slept in the dress.

TheShapeOfEwe · 29/07/2018 17:39

I'd have woken my DH and asked for help as I would hate to think either of us would lie uncomfortable all night rather than ask for assistance, even if it did mean waking the other! It would be annoying to be woken but a really loving partner would rather help I think (as long as it's not happening all the time!).

Clare98 · 18/08/2018 10:20

Just come across this thread. What was the problem with getting the dress off. Did you wake DH up?

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 18/08/2018 10:22

I'd have slept in the dress. As I wouldn't appreciate DH waking me up drunk asking me help him out of his clothes!

Frogscotch7 · 18/08/2018 10:25

Woken him up. And I’d expect him to wake me if he can home wearing a dress (sw I could take a pic).

LyndorCake · 18/08/2018 10:26

This happened to me once.
After about 20 minutes of attempting to 'hulk' my way out of the dress, I ended up using scissors and attempted to sew it back together.
DH has told me in future to just wake him up...

MsHomeSlice · 18/08/2018 10:32

i'd have woken him, made all sorts of rash promises about what I might do in return for the favour of undoing my frock, and leap seductively into bed and then promptly fall unconscious into bed and snore like a drunken warthog for the entire night.

HelenR9 · 19/08/2018 12:48

In reply to Clare.
The dress is tight - probably too tight! It has no fastenings so has to be pulled off over my head. I get to the point where it just needs to be pushed up at the back but with my arms trapped above my head I’m stuck.
I woke DH by accident! I decided to try to get the dress off on the landing. It was over my head and I was well into my wiggle to try to work it free when I knocked a painting off the wall. I heard the bedroom door open. He burst into laughter. I had to accept a friendly bit of teasing before he helped!

Well given how entertaining it was I don't think it was unreasonable to wake him. I would happily pay to wake up to the sight of my DH trapped in a stripper dress.
