Just this really I honestly cannot wait until November/ December when the Christmas adverts come on the tv, freezing cold nights and the fire on, Christmas tree up and bursting with presents underneath and tinsel everywhere! Christmas carols and starbucks crazy Xmas flavours being available.

Since my kids are now approaching the age where they understand about Father Christmas now and can be excited too I'm really excited.! My DH thinks I'm batshit crazy and sees Christmas as another day...

Also I'm aware it's still July but it's 4/5 months away and I do love something to look forward to lol.

I'm with your DH, but YANBU if it gives you pleasure Smile.

HolyMountain · 29/07/2018 12:01

Yes you are very unreasonable Shock.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 29/07/2018 12:02

I’d settle for the freezing cold nights right now, never mind what month it is!

notstamping · 29/07/2018 12:04

YANBU

GrinTotally agree with you and cannot wait! It's my favourite time of he year.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 29/07/2018 12:04

Btw, there’s a Christmas topic you might feel at home in, op Grin
Plenty of likeminded people there!
I’m just waiting for Autumn...

LaurieMarlow · 29/07/2018 12:07

I hate the winter (though I love Christmas) but even I understand the appeal of cold nights and glowing fires when the weather's like this.

Look forward as much as you like. Start planning if it makes you happy. Christmas has always been special to me and it's exciting to create those traditions for your own small family.

My in laws treat Christmas as just another day. It's a fucking miserable approach.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 29/07/2018 12:09

Yes, YABU Grin

Gingerninj · 29/07/2018 12:12

Not so much the cold nights, I hate when it gets dark so early, i feel like I rarely see the sunlight in the winter. But i do love Christmas

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 29/07/2018 12:12

Get thee to the Christmas topic!

It’s full of likeminded people who are looking forward to Christmas and planning it, preparing for it and dreaming about it as we speak...

anitagreen · 29/07/2018 12:19

I need to find this Xmas topic! I just love it so much, the weather today has reminded me how much I love it and I think it's nice having something to look forward to and plan. I never realised how many people aren't really bothered about Christmas before until I spoke to my family about it the other day. I'm actually currently sitting here wondering what colour theme to do the tree this year Grin

Yy go to Xmas topic it never stops.

My mind always turns to Xmas at this time of year because sales, and Xmas booking opens up in many places

wheezing · 29/07/2018 12:21

Oh I get it.. my 2 year old has started talking about Father Christmas (from Peppa Pig / Ben and Holly I think) and it’s just made me think about how much fun this year will be when he can go to bed excited for Christmas.

flapjackfairy · 29/07/2018 12:22

Yes get over to the christmas boards. You can enjoy christmas fever all yr round. I am with you and love winter. I love sept to jan and can get excited about christmas any time of year.

LoniceraJaponica · 29/07/2018 12:24

HTH

anitagreen · 29/07/2018 12:24

Thank you for all for making me feel and realise I'm not going insane Grin and I hope you all have a great Christmas this year Winkx

OP posts:
SnuggyBuggy · 29/07/2018 12:25

I always get like this when there is a heatwave

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 29/07/2018 12:25

Why would it “help” that you think Christmas is overrated, Lonicera?
How arsey.

bookmum08 · 29/07/2018 12:27

I made the mistake of bringing home the new Argos catalogue yesterday. Daughter has now written her Christmas list.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 29/07/2018 12:29

YABU for wishing away time.

ShowOfHands · 29/07/2018 12:30

Our local steam train service is taking bookings for its Polar Express train... It's clearly time to continue start prepping.

Come over to the Christmas topic.

ShowOfHands · 29/07/2018 12:33

Looking forward to something is not wishing away time.

Seriously, op, join the Christmas topic. Here you'll get a chorus of it's over commercialised rubbish and a bridge of how do you have nothing else in your life fa la la la la la la la.

anitagreen · 29/07/2018 12:34

I'm on it I've just found it and everyone seems so giddy and excited it's lovely. I never used to enjoy it until I had my own children and I start doing Christmas activites from December the 1st. I feel buddy the elf from the elf film haha x
