For a gift I can get a family who are celebrating their daughter being 1 year clear of cancer. Sorry it's in AIBU but I know I can rely on my fellow vipers to help out.

I love this family dearly and they've been throw a nightmare time these last few years and are finally feeling brave enough to celebrate their child reaching this milestone. She's relapsed twice and making a year cancer free is something we all want to celebrate. What can I buy they'd appreciate and I'd like to get something for them all as it's been rough on them all.

Child is 6 and there is a 10 year older sister. Can you help me please what would they like, budget about £40.

What about putting together a movie night hamper, with a couple of dvds, popcorn, sweets, drinks and character glasses to drink from?
Big paddling pool for the garden if they don't already have one, so they can make the most of the present heatwave.

MyBloodyMaltesersAreMelting · 28/07/2018 19:21

Ask them what they’d like
Poor family going through that

nurgh · 28/07/2018 19:47

Thanks thanks Leeds I'll have a think about the hamper but can't do paddling pool as little girl still has a iv line in and isn't allowed to go swimming.

Malteaser that might spoil the surprise a bit and they'd only say they didn't want anything.

Something to do together as a family - cinema or theme park tickets?

MyBloodyMaltesersAreMelting · 29/07/2018 11:18

Ah ok , I’d go with theme park tickets too then

Does she need to avoid crowds? If you live nearby how about inviting them over for a really lovely afternoon tea party? You can buy most of the food with your budget and make th rest quite simple.

She would obviously be the guest of honour and queen for the day.

Some lovely suggestions thank you.
