Show a bit of healthiness?!

My kids love this YouTube channel but my problem is all they show seems to be junk food! If food is mentioned or shown its pizza, mcdonalds, cake, cookies, sweets, fries...

fine occasionally. My kids have it now and again of course, but surely they could think for a minute, hang on with all of these millions of views we could get out a healthy eating message!

Show the kids eating a home cooked lasagne or baking low sugar treats or something.

My kids love fruit and vegetables, more than anything sweet - but at 5 and 7 will still be asking me if we can have mcdonalds for tea "because Ryan did"!

Get some carrot sticks in your tummy ryan!

Stop watching it?

Soooyeah · 27/07/2018 12:52

It's 5-10 minutes a day (when a new video notification pops in) - i don't sit and watch it, but the kids love it. As a parent I catch glimpses and think if I was in their position with such power I would be using it to tackle issues such as obesity etc by not preaching but alternating even between the Crap and some good for you stuff

don't let them watch it then!

Meeep · 27/07/2018 13:01

If I was in their position and McDonalds offered me £MILLIONS I'd jump at the chance and then I'd buy myself an island. Fuck promoting healthy eating. No island that way!

Joinourclub · 27/07/2018 13:02

The unhealthy food is not the problem I have with that show.

I think 5 and 7 is way too young to watch you tube unsupervised.

Mine get phones at 11 – which all come with you tube pre-installed but we still try and keep an eye on who they are watching.

QueenOfMyWorld · 27/07/2018 13:17

The mum's voice and laugh winds me up

Soooyeah · 27/07/2018 13:44

Big kite they aren’t unsupervised - I put it on then an busy tidying or doing paperwork in the same room. Once it ends, I turn off YouTube. And yes I agree about the mother! Definitely the laugh and the “RYAAAAAN!”

The mum gets right on my nerves aswell!! Actually scrap that I can't stand any of them!! So irritating!!

LilQueenie · 27/07/2018 13:51

Parents doing it solely to make money off their kid. They will go with the unhealthy stuff because it seems more fun. (It doesn't have to be imo)

@joinourclub what is your issue with the channel?

trancepants · 27/07/2018 13:57

That poor Ryan kid has his birthday and Christmas mornings filmed every year since he was 3 or 4 for the sake of making money. No natural spontaneity and random joy in opening his presents. He has to work at presenting them and describing them as he opens them one by fucking one. It's a miserable existence for the poor child. He might be raking in millions for his family but at the cost of all the fun moments of his childhood being forced into being a performance. Any parent who does that to their own child doesn't give two fucks about what your kid eats.

LilQueenie · 27/07/2018 14:11

I see your point trancepants unless they are doing a fake Christmas in advance. Most people will film many videos in advance rather than film every day. DD loves opening gifts but it annoys me she describes them at the same time. She wants to do the whole YT thing.

Soooyeah · 27/07/2018 14:18

What do they even get him for Christmas though, they get every new toy release sent to them it seems...
