to think Music Magpie is a rip off?

Sent them a load of old tech that was no longer needed. With the exception of one smashed screen, everything worked perfectly. They have refused to pay the quoted price on every single thing. We've gone from £254 down to under £60. I don't want it all back so they'll have to keep it, but maybe that's what they are counting on. Rip off merchants.

I haven’t dealt with them but I’ve heard negative things.

NewtoOLD · 26/07/2018 17:53

I got nearly all that they quoted on old DVDs, CDs .

TheOnlyLivingMumInNewCross · 26/07/2018 17:53

Wasn't there a whole expose on them doing the exact same to every seller on Watchdog a year ago?

whatwouldkeithRichardsdo2 · 26/07/2018 17:55

Had a good experience with DVDs and Blu-ray.

Get it all back, unless your times is 100 p/hour, a little bit of work selling on ebay / fb / gumtree will yield a much better result.

Aragog · 26/07/2018 17:58

I sold my old iPhone with them and got the exact same amount as they'd quoted, which was better than what Apple, mobile phone shops, CEX and other online sites were offering. Got the money within a couple of days of sending.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 26/07/2018 18:00

Get it all back and go to CeX. We got exactly what they quoted with over 200 different items.

GoldenWombat · 26/07/2018 18:00

You'd earn more just auctioning your goods off on eBay than on Music Magpie. They gave me some obscenely low quotes for the products I wanted to sell through them, got 3x as much from eBay and Gumtree...

Fancyaruck · 26/07/2018 18:03

Get it back - they did exactly this to me with an iPhome. I asked for it back and sent to CEX instead - process was slightly longer but they offered fairer prices.

bleedingbanshee · 26/07/2018 18:05

Have you ever seen books or CDs sold by zoverstocks on amazon, for £0.01 or similar? That’s music magpie. They shift it all on for crazy low prices and are usually the cheapest seller so I’m really not surprised to hear this.

LartenCrepsley · 26/07/2018 18:12

We flogged old CDs, DVDs, games and controllers to them a few years ago. We got about £60 for it all (at least £2000 worth of stuff, obviously wouldn’t have expected to get that much!). Their prices are stupidly low, but it is easier than bothering with eBay.

Gorrillagirlfanclub · 26/07/2018 19:21

Yes they are absolute charlatans. I sent them a smartphone which was around a year old. They offered me 200 then around 90 because it apparently had heavy scratches which was just not true. I think they rely on people just giving up and accepting the offer. I got them to send it back.
