Lending things to family

Hi,
Towards the end of last year I lent my sister some of my maternity clothes & a few baby things - I told her at the time that she could borrow them & she knew we were planning on having another baby. I have the text messages on my phone explicitly saying she could “borrow” them. I’ve iust found out that she’s since given most of it away to charity shops & her friends. I asked her which charity shop, on the off chance they might still have it & I could go & buy some of it back, but she said she did this almost 2 months ago so highly unlikely they’ll still have them. I’m kind of surprised she’s done this as, but I know accidents happen. To be fair she has said sorry & offered to buy me some replacement things if I come across anything I like, although I’ve told her not to worry & there’s no need. But I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this & how did you handle it?

Oh my I’d be really upset if that happened to me . My sister lent me all her maternity clothes and I gave them all back . I lent my stuff to my sil and again it came back . Maybe suggestshe take you shopping for a few key items .

And she’s could get it back from her friends if she wanted to .

That's just thoughtless and rude OP, I would be upset. Remind her that you lent her your things and wanted them back. Hopefully she will replace some of it.
