Aibu I keep going food shopping but the cupboards always seem bare since the six weeks have started as the kids always seem hungry. Has anyone got a full proof meal plans or meal ideas to keep appetites at bay. But on a budget?

I solved the bare cupboard problem by sending the oldest away to university.

Where do you shop? I ask because I was spending our weekly budget in Tesco and feeling like I had nothing! I switched to Aldi and now there is food in the fridge and the cupboards are slowly getting stocked up.

I find the problem is snack type stuff is really expensive but it's gone in a flash! I try not to bother so much with that now. Instead I go for packs of dips, crackers and breadsticks which are so cheap and it's a filling snack rather than just a cereal bar or whatever.

It's cheaper by a mile to make a big tray of flapjack or something like that for a sweet snack.

causeimunder What’s the quality of the food like at Aldi?
I usually do a mix of Waitrose & Tesco online plus Sainsbury’s and M&S for bits and pieces.
I spend a fortune on food under aren’t even teens yet...
