Very late to the party (apparently) but Primark have produced a Friends Collection.

There's bedding, throws, scatter cushions, candles, Central Perk mugs and I am 100% sad enough to go and buy the lot of it.

ExP hated my Friends obsession so it's a big fuck you to him as well.

AIBU? Grin

Dandeliontea123 · 25/07/2018 23:07

I laughed out loud at the ‘We Were On A Break’ t-shirt and startled the poor shop assistant nearby Blush

evilharpy · 25/07/2018 23:07

I was there last week and didn’t see any of this! Probably just as well as I’d have bought the lot.

HarshingMyMellow · 25/07/2018 23:09

@alltoomuchrightnow don't say that!! I only saw the article today Sad

@ShirleyPhallus I think the bed linen may be a step too far, but I am very excited for Central Perk cups!

Definitely t-shirts. Another one had the ‘Friends’ logo on. They were hanging up next to the piles of jeans in my local Primark. Enjoy your visit! Grin

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 25/07/2018 23:43

Omg didn’t know about that.

Seasawride · 25/07/2018 23:51

Omg really??

Aw friends we watched it first as new parents in 1992 after our older ones were in bed.

They watched as teens in the late 90s and our youngest teens now watch it and love it.

Timeless humour

Brilliant. Op knock yourself out

MyDcAreMarvel · 25/07/2018 23:53

Aw friends we watched it first as new parents in 1992 after our older ones were in bed.

Seasawride · 26/07/2018 00:02

bellabasset · 26/07/2018 00:09

Seasawride It was the comment they watched it as teens in the 90's that caused the time m/c comment.

Graphista · 26/07/2018 00:10

First episode wasn't shown until 1994 in USA.

I was initially late to the party not catching on until I was channel hopping and caught the repeat uk pace of the first thanksgiving episode (which confused me as Ross and Monica were affectionate to each other, but not dating - wasn't until I watched the next episode I learned they were brother & sister).

I've been an obsessed fan ever since, at one point I had all the videos, then all the DVD's and now it's on Netflix - which makes it very easy to set up our own special marathons - all the wedding episodes, all the baby episodes, all the Mondler episodes etc.

I had all the books at one point too.

I have the pyjamas & a t-shirt. Currently in the grip of agoraphobia & housebound but perhaps when I can get out and about I'll pick up a few bits, or dd will get them as gifts.

MissEliza · 26/07/2018 00:16

I'm going to my local Primark tomorrow. I loved Friends. I'll never forget getting a box set of VHS cassettes of the first four series and dh and I sitting every night watching it just after we got married in 1998! That was a massive treat as we were living in the Middle East at the time.

Seasawride · 26/07/2018 00:16

They watched the videos we brought as a box set!!!!!!

Seasawride · 26/07/2018 00:17

As they watched Frazier, only fools etc!! Even dads army

The magic of the old videos!!

Jesus Christ are you so young or am I so old? Grin

DiegoMadonna · 26/07/2018 00:24

I guess it's because you said you watched it in 1992 before it aired, and that your kids watched it as teens in the late '90s even though your eldest wasn't a teen until 2002.

But never mind! Keeping track of dates and ages is hard when you have half a dozen kids! And the main point is that friends is cross-generational!

Having said that, me and OH watched the entire 10 (was it 10?) seasons a year or so ago and it is beginning to age a bit.

Seasawride · 26/07/2018 00:24

I think the phrase box set of vhs cassettes might need explaining to some mumsnetters. Grin

Seasawride · 26/07/2018 00:33

Diego

I think you may be over invested with me and my life a bit chick.Hmm

Op this is brilliant and I will deffo be going to my local prmany to see what’s on offer

Friends hasn’t dated in the slightest. The comedy is still sharp and Rachel’s hair is still awesome Grin

My teens enjoy only fools! That’s a box set by the way obviously not on now Wink that’s timeless too.
