Totally am being unreasonable.

Posting here for traffic and not sure really where else to post.

I'm absolutely petrified of carrying my two week old up and down the stairs.

My DP has been doing it so far as I'm genuinely too scared but DP goes back to work soon and I'm going to be very limited if I'm still unable to take LO up and down the stairs in our home.

I grew up in a bungalow. Have lived in a house with stairs for the past four years. Still struggle with stairs. Have had numerous incidents where I've dropped things down the stairs and numerous incidents where I've ended up flat on my arse! Blush

I'm also very clumsy.

Have terrible visions of tripping on stairs with LO and thus far been too scared to do it.

Any advice?! I guess I just need to bite the bullet and do it but I'm petrified!

Aww, I feel bad for you! Can you start doing it now while your DP is home, with him maybe standing behind you as you go up, and in front as you go down? Just to try and build a little confidence.

I also had this fear when I had DD! I'm the clumsiest person ever and was convinced I would drop her, I can fall over sitting down! I have never dropped Dd down the stairs though. You will be fine.

Are your stairs carpeted? Perhaps look into some non-slip strips to add to each step? Can you hold LO with one arm and go down holding the banister? If it's just the two of you, go down on your bum Grin Have a practice with DP spotting you and see how you feel. You can do it! :)

Have practices with OH in the house.
Always walk barefoot, lights on, slowly and calmly. You won't fall, you got this.
