... A 64 year-old man that I know (major form for cheating on his wife, especially with younger women, and pissing away money) has been visiting a developing country well known for sex tourism multiple times per year for the last three years.

...His Facebook is full of pictures of him with a very young woman who he claims is the daughter of the family he's staying with. In these pictures they are very cosy and close and his comments are ambiguous so could be interpreted as being about a girlfriend or not.

Apparently (according to mutual friends) I'm being unreasonable by jumping to the conclusion that he's engaged in sex tourism and is probably in a "relationship" with this young woman.

What would your reading of this situation be?

I’d delete Facebook and mind my own business

Is she underage? If not then it’s none of your business.

He sounds delightful. I wouldn't want anything to do with him or make guesses about what he's up to. I'd rather pretend he just didn't exist

I had a colleague like this who was regularly sent to such a country for business. Unfortunately I found on the work server a lot of photos of him in the home of a family with their little girl and other family members. Not so bad until I also came across the photos of him in the swimming pool with a topless young woman (about 50 years his junior) from the family.

He was disciplined and took retirement (he was 70 so about time for him to use that as a reason).

I suspect that the young woman was the mother of the child who might even have been his. He was fairly desperate when he realised he wouldn’t have an excuse, that was acceptable to his wife, to visit the country any more. I don’t know what happened but I did feel sorry for his family or families.

I have also learned not to look for my work photos by searching for *.jpg on a work server. I got a lot more than I bargained for.

I expect you're probably right.
