Personal trainer

I've recently started training with a personal trainer with two friends.. If there's one of us it's £30 for two it's £25 each, if there's three of us it's £20 each.
My friend says he's taking the piss & it should be £30 no matter what split two or three ways.

I guess it's up to the trainer but just after other people's opinions.

Do you think it’s the same amount of work to train two people as one?

TSSDNCOP · 23/07/2018 20:31

Your friend is wrong.

MuddyMoose · 23/07/2018 20:32

Your friend is in the wrong

BlueBug45 · 23/07/2018 20:33

Nope doesn't work like that.

ShirleyPhallus · 23/07/2018 20:33

Your friend is wrong

But you’re not tied to this PT so if you don’t like his pricing then your friend is free to go elsewhere

notthisagain83 · 23/07/2018 20:34

Same as the PT in my gym...

TSSDNCOP · 23/07/2018 20:35

Of course the PT could say he’s not training your friend, and then your friend would have to pay a full £30 rather than the discounted £25.

So he’s be wrong and poorer.

Fucketbucket13 · 23/07/2018 20:37

I don't have a problem with it, he's very good.
It's a different friend who uses someone else who charges a set amount no matter how many people there are.

Even if you're in a group, he still has to work your own programmes out and talk to you all, so it's not the same as half/third the work.

BoomBoomsCousin · 23/07/2018 20:39

I think the discount for each additional person is a little on the low side, but it's harder to train more people. At the end of the day he can charge what he likes and if you (or your friend) don't like it you can look elsewhere and see if there's someone else willing to do it for a price you like.

DonttouchthatLarry · 23/07/2018 20:48

Ours charged us £30 each, for 2 it was £20 each then when a 3rd joined she said keep it the same ie £40 but as it was harder to split it I told her we'd pay her £15 each. That way she earned extra and we still got a bargain (and it wasn't just the money - I couldn't cope with an hour on my own Grin ).

Passonthemessage · 23/07/2018 20:50

I think this is standard but a good bootcamp would probably deliver the same training - if the timing was convenient.

Fucketbucket13 · 23/07/2018 20:55

It's much more fun & motivating with friends! We have a few local boot camps with I've considered, £5 a session.
I tried one once but it didn't push me enough.
