Just had a spider fall off me while I was changing baby. I used the phone light but can’t see where it’s gone, it’s hiding!

Now every tickle is scaring me and I have loads where my hair is falling out post pregnancy

AIBU to check into a hotel? 😱 🕷

Yes yabu, they won't hurt you and don't want to hang about on your weird warm wiggly body parts. It's gone into a hiding place somewhere to eat all the horrid little flies and things you don't want walking on your food.

My husband just woke me up jumping on me as he swears something was crawling on his chest. He's safely back asleep, I'm lying here terrified expecting Aragog to land on me. Thinking about decamping to sofa...

I feel your pain!

Gromonster · 23/07/2018 01:54

That’s calming condepetie, thank you

It’s not a nest of little spiders/a false widow/a tube web/some foreign invader that arrived with my shopping?!?!

YANBU. Get yourself and the baby out now. The spiders are out to get you.

Uncreative · 23/07/2018 02:57

YANBU!

You know the Mumsnet drill for spiders
Get out
Burn down house
Set fire to ashes just in case
Sorted

Monty27 · 23/07/2018 03:03

Flumpy that made me smile Smile
OP you are 100% safe. I can assure you.
Unless you are in Australia runnnnn Grin

TheSerenDipitY · 23/07/2018 05:16

get a flame thrower and cleanse the house, NOW! YRDNBU

Gromonster · 23/07/2018 07:21

Thank you for your advice. Although I didn’t follow it in the end I know some of you might have been worried about us so wanted you to know we survived the night!

The baby has been keeping watch for me since 4am and playing loudly to keep the spider away

It will have vanished into a hole/skirting board/under furniture. Even tube webs and widows don't bite unless you step on them or try to squish them.
