Arm stretchmarks

Does anyone else have stretchmarks on their inside arms?
If so do you wear sleeves all the time or not give a fuck?
I feel like mine are affecting my life. I haven't worn sleeveless top or a vest or anything for over a decade.
Can't go swimming etc....
I have never seen another woman With them on their arms...only men with a few at the top...Usually when they work our and have big biceps.
Am I alone ??
I'm so fucking hot I want to strip off and can't.

DGAF! I don't spend enough time looking at other peoples arms or skin to think people look at mine. Free your arms and own your body :)

Roo2012 · 22/07/2018 15:35

I have saggy skin and stretch marks on my upper arms. I decided a couple of years ago that I would not let it stop me wearing what I wanted. Sometimes I have a moment of self consciousness and then I remember I worked hard to change from an unhealthy lifestyle to a more healthy one and anyone who has a problem with my arms is really not worth bothering about. Plus once they get a bit of colour in the summer I think they look better.

I’ve just checked and I’ve got them. Never occurred to me to notice them to be honest!

In the nicest possible way, people couldn’t give a sideways fuck about your arms.

BeUpStanding · 22/07/2018 15:38

Please just free your arms and enjoy feeling cooler. It's difficult I know, we're so conditioned to despise our bodies, but life is short. Get 'em out!

NotNachoing · 22/07/2018 15:42

I have them almost everywhere else. I've seen women with them. I did notice, like if they'd had freckles or a mole, but didn't give it a second thought.

Get your arms out!! Smile

Mumofboys95 · 22/07/2018 15:43

I have them on my arms from being pregnant, I don't care if people can see them and I wear vest tops etc..

Also the sun helps them fade supposedly

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 22/07/2018 15:44

just ignore them and carry on.
I have arm stretchmarks and it took me years to not give a fuck.

FatToni · 22/07/2018 15:44

Yes I do...all the way down to my inner elbow. I've never had rapid or drastic weight gain or loss so why is a mystery.

I rarely show my arms off and it affects me too.

I've also never noticed them on anyone else so in the nicest way possible op it is nice to see it's not just me!

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 15:46

Yes, my skin is really prone to stretch marks so I got al it in pregnancy. I used to wear sleeves all the time but it’s miserable to be so uncomfortable when it’s hot. To make me feel better about my arms, I got a really beautiful tattoo by an artist I admire so that I have something lovely to show off alongside my stretchmarks!

Seasawride · 22/07/2018 15:47

Fake tan helps op.

Are you sure it’s not just cellulite? Not stretch marks?

Cellulite is a bugger but can be helped by targeted exercise. Getting thinner. Weights etc.

Bunnyattack · 22/07/2018 16:28

I'm covered in them but it feels so much worse on arms as it's not an easy thing to keep covered...like I don't care if I never show my stomach again or whatever but arms are a different ballgame

Mine are really bad...from top right down to elbow and very noticeable. I got them during pregnancy despite not gaining weight....I.wish I could do something about them.
Nice to see I'm.not alone....

Bit.of sun and spray tan does help but it's the thing I hate the most it's a mental blocknindont seem.to be ale to move past and reveal them. It's been nearly 11 years now since.my.first pregnancy.

I'm seriously.considerimg an arm lift.
I know it.sounds extreme but I have bingo.wings also and surgeon said the area the stretchmarks are would mostly be removed....obviously you have a long thin scar but I honestly believe it would fade lovely and I would feel muchnkore confident to even wear a loose mid arm sleeve instead of tight at the elbow sleeves or wrist length to avoid it riding up and people seeing them.

I'm saving up but I want to try to accept myself in the mean time and if info ahead with the surgery then I will just feel even better and more confident.

I know surgery is not a magic fix to make you love yourself sonic like to try make.peace with it first and then improve.

Hope that makes sense. It's a really big deal to.me.for.some reason

Me too! I know exactly how you feel, i also have not shown my arms in about 12-14 years! Gets me down toi, constantly on my mind Sad

ClockworkNightingale · 22/07/2018 16:42

I have them down to my elbows too. Can't be faffed to keep them covered. Nobody has ever said anything and I've never noticed anyone looking aghast. How much do you care about strangers' arms? They care about yours that much.

Free your arms, OP!

GoldenWonderwall · 22/07/2018 16:51

I have them and I never used to wear sleeveless clothes in the uk - I would abroad as no one knew me. This summer has been so hot I’ve stopped caring and I can’t say anyone has paid any attention to my arms at all. If you’re so worried about someone seeing stretchmarks I don’t know that you’d feel confident about showing scars either (I know someone who had a scar in a similar place and she was very self concious about it, so scars might feel as hard to show as stretch marks). It’s how you feel about yourself that you can change as much as surgery can change your body. Perhaps look at cbt techniques for body confidence.
