Was I being unreasonable in wanting to eat dd??

Have always been curious about this one....dd's mum had the same reaction..dd was born at 4lb 12 oz..but as soon as she started putting weight on, we both wanted to eat her, imagining laying our great fangs on her plump little legs and tearing the flesh of leaving a trail of blood, flesh and skin. We aren't talking little nibbles here!!

I know this is not unique. But is it common? and what the feck does it signify, if anything. Anyone??

Um... you were hungry?

Pan · 29/05/2007 22:51

No!! This went on for a year or so, and then just trailed off. She is now 7 y.o., so she made it through, but on occassion......

i take back my sensitive new age man comment!

It is primal but no, YANBU.

I think there was a book published once called, "Eating Babies is Wrong," so you are clearly not alone in this.

veruccasalt · 29/05/2007 22:55

Everyone wanted to eat my dd's knees as a baby (before she started crawling!!) and my mum had a thing about her dimply arms. She called them washerwoman's arms - what a cheek.

WK007 · 29/05/2007 22:55

Sorry, not had any experience of that, so can't really advise. I did have overwhelming urges to pinch dd's little cheeks and legs really hard because they looked so plump and cute (I resisted of course).

Need more iron in your diet?

It means you are mental.

PT - Ha!!

yes, it does seem primal. I asked someone at the time, a little hestitantly.."Do you ever want to eat your children"...answer " of course. Each and every time" - this was a mum I asked.

i sometimes want to bite their arms, does that count, i do resist though

Pan · 29/05/2007 23:00

yes MMJ - chubby legs and bum. tearing out chunks with teeth, not 'eating on a plate with serviettes'.

i want to suck ds's chubby bits but the blood lust kinda throws me i'm afraid.

i would imagine it has to do with humans instinctively being meat eating hunters and babies being chubby defenseless little morasals though so weird but not deranged on the scale of things

PinkTulips · 29/05/2007 23:03

*morsels

veruccasalt · 29/05/2007 23:04

I never wanted to eat my dd's bum - I used to wipe poo off it . That was enough to put me off for life.

I liked rubbing her fingers against my face though - her fingers are long like a pianists.

I wonder if peeps I know just don't admit to it, for fear of questions being asked!! Am perfectly comfortable with wanting to eat dd, and violently, but am also curious as to why. And why did I never need condiments??.

it is strangely pleasing to know lots of other children are/have been eyed up for supper. Thank you.
