AIBU to tell MIL to do one?

On my way to day/evening of bar hopping with MIL, SIL and MIL's friends. Normally we all get on, but today MIL is just doing my tits in. Got to her house, cue barrage of comments about how my outfit is creased and "why are you not wearing lipstick", "Why are you not wearing earrings. We are going to fancy bars you know!"

I think she's worried about me not making the perfect DIL impression on her precious friends. I'm sitting in the car fuming, it's a day trip to the city ffs. I'm wearing a day dress and ballet flats. AIBU to want to tell her just to do one?

Go for the first few drinks, if she carries on pick up your bag and just say ‘cheerio’ and go - life is too short.

If she ever asks why just say ‘I was obviously embarrassing you, the only things you said to me all day were’ and list them all.

Nb -I’m an old fart and can no longer be doing with this shit. So long as you feel good about how you are dressed and haven’t purposely gone out of your way to upset anyone what about matter?

You can either tell her to stick it or go and enjoy yourself and give her a wide berth. I'd do the latter

I'd tell her to do one. I put up with years of bullying from my Mother in law. I even let her live with us but enough was enough and had to ask her to leave. I won't put up with these kinds of games any more. You probably look really lovely and she's saying it to make you feel shit because she can. Either tell her to reign it in or get shit faced drunk and really show her up.
