A few years ago I reported a man to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) for sending a very illegal video. He claimed his friend had borrowed his phone and he had forwarded it without looking at it. The sender is a total stranger on another continent but I know that nothing happened to him because I know from google that he was married with a baby girl then and now hes still married and has three little girls. CEOP didn't do anything but what about the kids hes around?

You’ve already reported him, there’s nothing more you can do.

Can I have some more information.

You say that the material was 'very illegal". Did the material contain indecent images of children? Or was it some other kind of porn?

It is a criminal offence to possess, manufacture or distribute indecent images of children but it is not an offence to distribute 'adult porn'.

Personally, I would contact CEOP and ask what action was taken.

It was level 9 on the COPINE scale and i cant be sure he wasnt videoing himself.

Was 5 years ago i doubt they can help.

Perhaps you could ring social services, explain why you are worried & ask if they could do a home or school visit?

There are 3 categories of indecent images of children not 9

The COPINE scale has ten.
