Posting in AIBU for traffic. I am planning a holiday to Austria at the start of October and am keen for advice. We are thinking of flying (from the UK) into Vienna and staying there for two nights before taking the train to Salzburg and staying there for a further two nights.
- Are two nights enough in each city? Should we extend?
- What part of each city should we stay in (probably will do an Airbnb)?
- Any tips on things to do in each place? I don't mind spending money on amazing experiences but if possible would like to explore each city on foot, maybe do a walking tour. We are interested in history so very keen to see historical areas, sites, etc.
- How much should we expect to send each day, we have a lot of travel coming up, so we don't want to overdo it here, and we are planning on doing some cooking in our Airbnb to keep food cost down.
- What great restaurants should we try?
- What type of clothing is suitable for Austria in early October?
