So far I have had a lie in,had breakfast, been on my,cleaned the kitchen(floor not included).
The house needs a good dust and floors doing,my desk needs clearing, filing away, few firms to fill and a job application. Its tidy.
I am leaving it all and going to sit in the sun after a heavy week at work so far and the weekend at work still to look forward to.
What do you do on free days and am I just frittering time away with the excuse that I need to recharge my batteries?

YANBU at all!

Days off are for lounging around, definitely! I'm planning one in the next few weeks just so I can have a lie in :D

Today is my day off to o and before I started Mumsnetting i was being sooo very productive (have list of 20 things none of which are to clean my house!!)
We break up tomorrow and my work hours change in September so this is going to be my last whole day to myself for quite some time!

Maybe i should carry on ignoring housework!

Nope, not unreasonable at all. Go and lie in the sun and sod everything else for now.

See, I think that a day off is just that - off. Laze around, sleep late, read. Whatever works for you. If relaxing means two hours in the gym then do it! What it is not (to my mind) is a day for housework and admin.

I rarely get any time to myself. If I'm not at work I have the kids. That is fine. But now and then DH takes the kids to his parents' and I relax. I will tidy up any mess they've made (all toys away etc) and I might wash up, but I don't use that time to clean the bathroom or the kitchen, or sort all the bills etc. I don't hoover (unless it's a desperate situation and I can't relax if I don't). I sit on the sofa or I go to bed. I read. I watch MY stuff on TV, stuff I can't watch with the kids around, or stuff DH isn't into.

I only get about 4 hours, so I make the most of it!

So no, you're not BU to have a day off! Enjoy!

You’re not being unreasonable at all. We all need some time to ourselves now and again to just relax and enjoy life. Do it! 😊

It is just beautiful in the garden, sunny,a gentle breeze pleasantly warm.
Defiantly pasta for tea,may rouse myself enough to cut a lettuce.
I may exert my self enough to potter out for a bottle of wine.
