miss me, without being prompted.

He has been home for a long weekend and is going back to his job in London on the 4pm train today.

He was sitting with the LO on his knee chatting away to him when he said to the baby "oh I'm going to miss you LO"

It took at least 3 "Ahems" before he suddenly said "I'm going to miss Flower too of course"

thats men for you!

But Flower - that would be multi-tasking (talking to LO and you) and men don't do multi-tasking. Even at the most basic level.

He has to leave in a few minutes to get to the station and he's gonna be expecting kissy kissy.

Hah I'm busy

Flower: before we had DS my DH used to come in from work all gloomy. Maybe I'd get a peck the cheek, but no smile.

The dog, OTOH, got grins and hugs.

Fume.
