Ooh, I'm glad this thread has been bumped! But you've made me burn the dinner - was so busy gazing in awe at JD that my curry burnt. Dd2 has taken to referring to JD as your beloved, as in 'Your beloved is on TV, mummy.'

I'd always liked JD, but that bit in Benny & Joon when he swings past the window, all doe-eyed.... that was when I fell in love with him!

I liked Benny and Joon. Some of my fav Depp films are his earlier and not so blockbustery ones. I loved the one about the B movie maker - Ed Wood? That was great.

And I really thought he made Sleepy Hollow - him and was it Rutger Hauer?

I saw Pirates 3 and felt strangly attracted to Captain Barbosa as well, Arrgh where be those apples?

Must admit I never saw him like that in Pirate 1 but in 3 there was something different about him - perhaps it was because he was on the team we were rooting for!

time to mention "what's eating gilbert grape" then! Another JD classic!

I have liked JD since he was in 21 Jump Steet!

When I here girlies talking about him at the bus stop I just what to shout 'what makes you think you discovered him?' After all most wre'nt even conceived when that show was being made.

21 Jump street was very good at keeping my attention when I was a hormonal teenager, compulsive viewing with lots of teenage eye candy. A cross between Angel and an American Police show I can;t put my finger on right now.

However now I am a hormonal wife and mother I have progressed to Pirates!

I even found myself ogling at JD's cartoon character Victor in Corpse Bride the other day.
