Aibu to ask for ideas for my birthday?

It's my birthday on Friday and DH has no idea what to get me. I'm shit at telling him ideas as I tend to just like random things. But if I don't tell him he won't get me anything but a Harry Potter cookbook he forgot to give me for Christmas.

He said my idea of champagne and flowers is stupid as they won't last.. I'm 27, so it's not a big birthday but I just wish he would just buy me something nice without me asking!!

A nice trip away for the weekend.

What's the budget?

Honeybeeq · 18/07/2018 15:38

Budget probably £100 as it's not a big birthday

If you want champagne and flowers put your foot down and demand them. It's your fucking birthday, not his. What does last? Clothes wear out, electronics become obsolete. You're not getting a long term investment you're getting something to enjoy to mark your birthday. And maybe the memory of them will last.

Is he often dismissive and rude?

A nice dinner out, tickets for a show, day out somewhere with lunch, perfume, a couple of sets of lovely underwear, nice nightwear, night in a hotel, bench for the garden, an outfit, an afternoon at the hairdressers (cut, colour and finish) a piece of jewellery. Loads of things Id ask for!
