So, queued up to pay for my goods at the Co-op today.
Only had 3 small items. Orignally I went to the Kiosk as there was only one customer. Turns out he wanted to post something and it was taking an age so I went to the checkouts and started to queue again.
I had my baby with me and he started to cry. The woman behind me tutted. Couldn't really tell if she was annoyed at me or the guy at the till who had run out of £5 notes and had to go and get some from another till.
I had been waiting about 5 minutes at that point. The guy is still taking an age getting the £5 notes and is getting flustured because the till freezes or something.
My DS is still crying and I am trying to consol him and quieten him down (he's teething.)
Guy at the till then calls for more staff whilst trying to get the bloody £5 notes.
Someone eventually comes and shouts, "can I help anyone"
I pick up my 3 items to move to the next till, the tutty woman behind me grabs her stuff and pushes in front of me.
I politely say, "excuse me I was queuing first." To which she replies, "I don't fucking care and shut your fucking baby up!"
I was a bit shocked to say the least. Woman behind the till said nothing and I ended up queuing behind her.
I'm more than a bit upset by the aggressive response but also annoyed at the Co-op staff. AIBU? What would you have done?
