I've a white dress but can't wear white to my friends wedding, therefore want to dye it pale pink or purple....
I've read you can't use the Dylon Machine for Polyester.

Anyone any success dying polyester and suggestions of process and dye to use?

Many thanks x

I don't think it's possible. Man-made - basically woven plastic and therefore will not absorb dyes. Same reason they make people sweat. Sorry OP.

Try Rit dye for polyesters, you'll have to order it from Amazon though!

Dylon certainly no good, it's only in recent years you can dye Polyester at home.
This has been successful for me (I am a happy customer of the retailer, too):

This is polyester specific dye in some amazing colours www.thedyeshop.co.uk/polyester_dye.php

Just be aware that you may spoil a nice dress if, for example, the stitching is made from a slihtly different material and takes the dye differently (or not at all).

Sorry OP, I'm clearly out of date in my info! Grin

You can but you will need a dye specifically for polyester, they do exist but you will probably have more luck online than in a fabric shop.
