iPad/Kindle apps for 5 year old? Or even any PS4 games?

Morning.

Trying to get a few things in line to make the summer holidays a bit more bearable varied.

DD2 (aged 5) never really plays ipad/kindle/video games and I'm thinking half hour a day while I get some work bits done from home might be a good plan.

Any good apps to recommend please? Educational is a bonus but not necessary.

DH has a PS4 that never gets used other than for Netflix etc. So if there are any younger kids games on that you can recommend I'd also be interested. :) Thanks

My DD who is also five likes apps from a website called busythings.co.uk. You can get a subscription to the website but you can also buy stand alone apps from the iStore.
They are educational but fun too. Some are more obviously educational than others.

You’ll struggle on the PS4 if he’s not used it much as he’ll struggle withou your help initially which defeats the point. You could try lego games or skylanders, both are kid friendly platform type games.

I bought my three year old GC a Kindle and it is really easy to navigate. I got the Kids edition, so she got the games and audio books. She often listens to an audio book and does educational stuff.

She is headstrong and wouldn't have us read the equivalent to her, before anyone jumps in with the "it's sad you can't read to her".

Depends. My eldest was playing on the PlayStation from age 3 🙈 ... at the same sort of age he enjoyed little big planet ... however my youngest is 4 and can't manage the PlayStation at all.

With iPads I pick things they show an interest in. But again my eldest would spend every waking minute of he was allowed on the iPad whereas my youngest doesn't really use it other than occasionally Netflix.

Cbeebies playtime island is very popular with my 3&5yr olds. The 5yr old is also obsessed with playing candy crush and bubble witch, hes better than me at them Hmm

Yes playtime island is one we do have, she quite likes it :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think we have a Lego PS4 game, maybe I'll let her have a go one day. I'm pretty good with platform games (wish I could get us a SNES with Mario etc) so I can sit and help until she gets the hang of it.

If she's anything like me she'll be bored after half an hour, but at least it might help her hand/eye coordination etc and save some of the "I'm boreds"
