What is this on my arm?

Not really aibu but posting for traffic, sorry.

I react really badly to mosquito bites (often turn into cellulitis and require antibiotics). I was bitten twice last week and both bites have been very itchy and slow to clear up, although I don't think they're infected.

I've just noticed lots of little red dots on my arm between the bite on my wrist and the one further up, and a few dots continuing up past my elbow.

Could it be related? I'm a bit worried that the bites are tracking in some way. Want to avoid antibiotics if at all possible but equally don't want to leave it to become something worse!

I have the same problem, bites that react badly, cellulite, ABs, etc. The other day, I had a similar looking patch, only it was in a rather embarrassing region of my body. Intensely itchy, very red, but no obvious bite in the centre. I didn't notice dots like you mentioned, but i had other, definite bites in the vicinity. Also, it was on off intensely itchy, not itchy all the time. Sound familiar?

Anyway, sorry, I had no idea what it was. My dh has some steroid cream for a skin problem and I have to admit I used a bit on myself and it seemed to help.

Cellulitis, sorry not cellulite, though I dare say I have that too.

Haha I have cellulite too but less worried about that!

I've got some Hydrocortisone cream and will keep using it, just wanted a second opinion because I don't want to waste the GP's time if it's nothing sinister.

Hey we aren't alone!

Just came across this article on the BBC website.

I hope the hydrocortisone does the trick for you. It is the only thing about summer I really can't stand: becoming a buffet for all the insects.
