Very old lemon curd - WIBU to eat it?

There are two jars of home made lemon and passionfruit curd in my fridge. They have been there for many months, probably not too far off a year.
They look fine.
They smell fine.
They taste fine.

If it was jam, I know it would be ok. But all the recipes for lemon curd say to eat quickly, and the ingredients include egg and butter.

If it was dangerous to eat, would it taste bad?
Do I have to bin them?

Ive got a jar of home-made LC from Christmas in the fridge. I won’t eat it because I don’t like it, but DS will eat it without a second thought when he comes home from his travels next month. If it smells and tastes ok, go for it.

Yep. If it smells/tastes good, eat it.
