YANBU. Steal her away and give her an education.

shakeyourcaboose · 14/07/2018 22:58

Then risky business then days of thunder!

KittyVonCatsworth · 14/07/2018 22:58

Nope. NBU and then put Flashdance on. Wake her in the morning for the Breakfast Club!

InDubiousBattle · 14/07/2018 23:02

She's seen Dirty Dancing though. Yes?

My 19 year old nephew brought his gf over this week and she asked me if I knew what snapchat was!

itsbritneybiatch · 14/07/2018 23:06

I'm going to ask her about dirty dancing now!!

Oh to be young and have all these wonderful movies to discover! We really were lucky growing up in the 80s and 90s.

Take my breath awaaaaaaay!

Typhers · 14/07/2018 23:15

Kick her out of the house with a motherly 🖕

InDubiousBattle · 14/07/2018 23:17

And Grease!

BoogieBomb · 14/07/2018 23:18

YANBU - Top Gun and Cocktail are epic! May I suggest Lost Boys, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Karate Kid, The Neverending Story and Care Bears - the Movie next?

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2018 23:20

St Elmo's Fire and Breakfast Club surely?

Top gun is pants.

I impressed DS1's GF by Airdropping her a photo. Grin

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 14/07/2018 23:20

What the hell are they teaching kids nowadays? How can she not know about the need, the need for speed? The volleyball scene? And what about the volleyball scene? Or even the volleyball scene?

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 14/07/2018 23:21

She'll definitely have seen the Lost Boys though. That's, like, law.

AtomicSquirrel · 14/07/2018 23:21

My daughter asked me tonight who the Spice Girls are 😂😂

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2018 23:24

I was explaining to some teens that Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet and Shirlie Holliman from Wham! were Roman Kemp's parents. Blank faces all round. Hmm

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 14/07/2018 23:29

Just had to Google Roman Kemp. #pastit

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2018 23:30

Grin he's the breakfast show presenter on Capital Radio and does a fair bit of TV.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 14/07/2018 23:31

Just had to Google Roman Kemp. #pastit

Me too! Grin

MaureenMLove · 14/07/2018 23:33

God, half of my regular sayings are lines from Top Gun! I always talk about my wingman and when I get in a tizzy about something at work, I'm always in a flat spin! Grin

There's probably loads from Dirty Dancing too. Not unusual for me to carry a water melon.

DD (23) says them too. She probably thinks I made them up!Grin

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2018 23:33

Looks like I am more down with the kids than I thought or a bit obsesed with Martin Kemp.

Grin

Such films make interesting viewing through modern eyes.

Sees woman alone in bar. Decides to 'pick her up' by singing to her with entire Air Force. Can you imagine that as an AIBU Grin

Then follows her into the bathroom after she turns him down.

80s films through moden eyes.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 14/07/2018 23:37

Maureen my sister fell out with me because I was answering all her texts with lines from 80’s movies.

The straw that broke the camels back was “where we’re going, we don’t need facewash” Grin

kalapattar · 14/07/2018 23:40

An interesting take on 80s teen movies

MaureenMLove · 14/07/2018 23:48

Love that. I used to giggle at work every morning, because the first person in after me, was someone called Scott. The diehard fans of Top Gun will know that the very first line of the film is, 'Morning Scott'. Every single day, I did that line! Just wonderful! Grin

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 14/07/2018 23:52

Grin brilliant!

liz70 · 14/07/2018 23:52

"who the Spice Girls are"

They're some girl group that young people listen too, aren't they?
