Hi,

Didn't know where to post this so sorry if wrong area.

I was given a voucher for venture and went with DP and DS to the shoot today which was great and have a viewing booked for next week.

I have a brochure of the prices so I'm aware of the cost already Shock

Does anyone know how much the USB stick is? It's mentioned in the brochure but no price.

And does anyone have any cost saving tips? Really worries I'm going to love the photos, spent £££ and then regret it!

Did it years ago, we stuck firm and just came away with our free mini framed print, but it was very high pressure sales.

We had a similar voucher a few years ago. Shoot and one framed print. They were trying to sell us packages for £2000 Shock offering finance packages etc. We just stood firm on not wanting anything else and was quite honest and just said we didn't want any more and wasn't getting into debt for some photos. They will try and do the hard sell crap though.

Just had one done this week as we had a voucher that included 4 free prints with our tv. The USB with the prints was 600 British pounds!!!!! Madness quite frankly. If you spent over £1000 you got it for free but it’s a waste of time as they give you the images in such low resolution as to make them unusable- they are 800 pixels along the longest edge so you could probably use them to print a key ring but not use the images to make a photo calendar IYSWIM.

It’s a shame really as the photos were nice and we only went because of the free voucher but probably would have brought something if they gave us actuable usable images or something reasonably priced!

Thank you for all your advice.

Especially good tip on the USB as I may have been tempted by that but not if the photos are basically unusable.

I have a budget and will haggle but if they don't agree then I'll walk away with just the free print.

Take your budget and find a great local photographer. Come away with a full portfolio and have a weekend away on the rest of the Venture money.

We had a voucher for a shoot that came with our TV. We said we didn't want the one matching frame & print, but asked what the value of the print was and what were our other options. In the end we swapped it for a multi frame print - so at least got to choose 9 of our favourite pics (albeit small!) We had considered the USB option but the price was so off putting, can't remember exactly what it was but it was enough to make me say no way!!

I didn't realise Venture were still going.

We had a photo shoot with them years ago when my boys were small. The photos were lovely but ridiculously expensive and like someone else said, they try the hard sell. I bought one framed image and it cost £350. This was around 14 years ago so they are probably more expensive now.

@FriggingMardyCow has the right idea. Local photographers take lovely pictures and will be a bargain compared to these.

Be prepared to have to turn your back on beautiful photos of your DS smiling away into the camera. It's horrible!

I stuck to my guns and came away with the freebies but MY GOD i struggled with having to say no to my 3 little DD's pictures.

Maybe it's just me being a sentimental twat but i wouldn't/couldn't do that again!
