Marrying DP this week. TTC straight away.

Planned on waiting a few months but I'm so excited! I truly do know IABU. Been on this board for years as a doctor for children with MH troubles.

I know how wrong it can go, and I'm filled with hope. This is unlike me.

YANBU! My thinking is even if things do go wrong it wasn’t wrong to hope and enjoy the excitement before. Best wishes for your wedding and beyond.

ValidUser · 12/07/2018 21:06

I think I've just never seen having children go right/easy! Between my years of paeds and camhs (and even babysitting) it's tough. But I still want children soon. DP is the best human I've ever met. I want his children.

Is your partner on board with this?

ValidUser · 12/07/2018 21:09

100%! He is as delusional as I am!

But we know we're delusional.

BTW I'm not in the Uk. My CAMHS service is luckily well resourced.

YANBU op, you are not delusional! Lots of people get knocked up quickly and everything goes swimmingly.

TheCag · 12/07/2018 21:12

I forgot to say - Have a great wedding!

ValidUser · 12/07/2018 21:12

Thank you lovely people!

If you are both ready, go for it! Why wait?! Maybe you can be like me and have a 2 week old gorgeous baby as a first anniversary present!

MilkyMum23 · 12/07/2018 21:31

YANBU.
Best of luck with TTC - and congratulations on your wedding.
You sound very lucky to have found each other!

ValidUser · 12/07/2018 21:34

You are lovely people! If we're lucky, this is no delusion. I just feel like nobody has it so easy!

No offence, @ValidUser, but as a sub-specialist, you see a very skewed population. The vast majority of children who don't have major problems come nowhere near you. I'm a GP. I'm 13 weeks pregnant. I'm not too stressed: because I see undifferentiated presentations, I know the vast majority of pregnancies are fine and the vast majority of kids are fine. Don't assume the worst just because your job is to help the sickest children.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/07/2018 22:15

Definitely be excited and happy and full of hope for all the good things to come!! Why wouldn’t you be?

Congrats and good luck 👌
