To think this was odd

Had a knock at my door earlier. Was a man around late 50s. Asking if a man of the name Nick lived here. I said no obviously. He said old man who has broken his leg. I again said no. He said of the pub round the corner said he lived at number 4 here. AIBU to think if he knows the guys name and that his broke his leg etc then he should know where he lives?
I've also just noticed that someone has been round the back of my garden. No reason for anyone to. Just a bit concerned.

It's probably a genuine mix up but be vigilant all the same!

Do you think the person at back of garden might have been trying to break in while you were distracted at front door?

I worked in a pub years ago, and one of the older regulars had a fall. Lots of the staff went to check in on him, take him shopping, making sure he didn’t need anything. It could be something innocent like that

Yea it could keep actually that's a good point. I do keep all my doors locked at all times. I'm a single mum so do feel a bit vulnerable at times.

He will have been distracting you from the person round the back of the house.
