AIBU to post here for traffic and ideas?

I'm thinking keep it simple,

Pulled pork
Apple sauce
Rolls

Coleslaw

Peri peri chicken
Rolls

Or am I being boring and should I add more stuff

Charlie97 · 12/07/2018 06:31

@MissusGeneHunt the salmon is an excellent idea! So glad I posted! Yes it's a "big" birthday.

i agree with keeping it simple, will everyone like/eat it? if so and you know that, go for it.
my go to for large numbers are masses of jacket spuds done in the oven. Then a large chilli in a pot. bung out masses of grated cheese. tuna in mayo, a pot of rice and if veggies a ratatouille thing.
Covers all bases.

Charlie97 · 12/07/2018 07:25

@AJPTaylor I'm not sure on all the guests likes etc, so maybe adding jacket potatoes is a good idea. I'm determined not too make lots of different dishes! X

I'd definitely add a few large bowls of salad.

Quiche always goes down well at buffet.

blackbirdbluebottle · 12/07/2018 08:08

Hotpot always goes down well

Girlfrommars77 · 12/07/2018 08:17

Any veggies OP? If so would do a veg quiche/pasta salad/halloumi for rolls or something

wowfudge · 12/07/2018 08:17

I'd do new potatoes rather than jacket spuds - make a potato salad and leave some plain. There needs to be some veg apart from coleslaw - roasted Mediterranean veg is good and can be served at room temperature.

Notthatwomanagain · 12/07/2018 08:25

That sounds great OP
Don’t start adding quiche etc and other than some salad I wouldn’t worry about veg- you aren’t responsible for everyone’s 5 a day!

Maybe have a few gluten free rolls in your cupboard just in case?

Then do some lovely puddings- that always goes down well!

greendale17 · 12/07/2018 08:29

Quiche always goes down well at buffet.

Not at any party I have been too. I haven’t seen quiche served for years now.

sashh · 12/07/2018 08:32

I'd leave the chicken plain but have sauce to add to it, along with some mayo and possibly ketchup.

Agree with adding salad as both pork and peri peri can be greasy.

That's because it's all been eaten before you get to it Grin
