To wonder at what age twins know they look the same

I have a friend who has twins and asked her if she knows if the girls think they look like each other

She doesn’t know

So if you show a picture to one twin of the other will they think it’s them or do they know it’s not if you get my drift

I'm an identical twin and remember being aware from about 3 that DT and I looked alike in a way that most people didn't. Can't remember looking at pictures but there are many now that we just don't know who's who. According to DM we didn't react to our reflections like other babies. I have had conversations with mirrors as an adult in dimly lit shops or nightclubs. We freaked out our local Maternity Unit when we had DC 5 weeks apart and cause huge confusion when at Parent's Nights when the DC were in same year group at secondary school.

I can't remember at what age my now adult DT were aware of looking like each other, but by the time they were school age they were choosing clothes by asking each other to model them so they could see what they looked like!

I have 5 yr old identical twin boys and they started identifying themselves at about 3 1/2.

But also love the fact that they came from the same egg and look the same as each other.
