London people help me!

Posting for traffic, as I’ve got about an hour before I need to leave!!
I’m in London today, was banking on it being really hot like yesterday....it’s not. There’s a cool breeze (yay!) and the only dress I’ve bought has bare shoulder. I need some kind of light cover-up.
I’m travelling from Ruislip to Oxford Circus, and then on to Charing Cross - anywhere close to those stations where I’d be able to find something quickly?

It’ll warm up.... I wouldn’t bother!! The tube will be hot and sticky

SavageBeauty73 · 10/07/2018 08:14

Oxford Circus has hundreds of shops. There's a Zara,Top Shop and H & M all near the entrances on Oxford Street.

lemonsandlimes123 · 10/07/2018 08:15

It will warm up but if not there are enormous topshop and h and m stores right outside oxford circus station

Believeitornot · 10/07/2018 08:15

But there is H&M almost opposite Charing Cross train station.

Vashna · 10/07/2018 08:15

Get off at Oxford Circus and there’s a massive Top Shop right there above station. Or most High St shops within 2 mins. If you have time, walk down to Selfridges (head Marble Arch direction) or get on a bus a couple of stops.

lucy101101 · 10/07/2018 08:15

Oxford circus is possibly the best place to find something! The H&M there (Regent Street South) is huge.

FanSpamTastic · 10/07/2018 08:16

If you get off at Oxford Circus - you literally have all the shops you could need! M&S is about 2 mins down Oxford St.

Or if you carry on to Charing Cross there are a few shops near there but not many.

But as pp says the tubes are so hot that you probably won't notice!

MorrisDancingViv · 10/07/2018 08:16

There's a huge primark on Oxford Street plus about a million small independent shops selling pashminas

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 10/07/2018 08:17

Oxford Circus is on Oxford St, you'll be spoilt for choice

MojoMoon · 10/07/2018 08:19

Forecast to reach 24c today so a bit cooler but still warm enough that it may not be needed.
The tube is hot and central London retains heat from buildings etc so it tends to be warmer.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 10/07/2018 08:20

Giant Primark, H&M, Zara & Benetton amongst others all within easy distance of Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus tube stations

MyBreadIsEggy · 10/07/2018 08:20

Fantastic! Thank you all Smile
I’ll just grab something light that I can fit in my bag (along with my flip flops)

Ok you were all right - don’t need a cover up!
So I’m sat with a latte, just killing time.

And I’ve got to bin my flip flops as they won’t fit in my fucking bag Hmm

The primark is Marble Arch, it’s two stops down Confused well past Bond Street.

MorrisDancingViv · 10/07/2018 12:31

There's a Primark opposite Tottenham Court Road. It's a short walk down from Oxford Circus or one stop on the tube Hmm

EvilMorty · 10/07/2018 13:25

It’s not really a manageable “pop in” trip though, it’s a manic walk, one stop away, against people coming at you in all directions. I used to work by the BBC building, I’d not have made it to primark and back in my lunch break. Topshop, Miss Selfridge, H&M, Zara are all at the top of the Oxford Circus exit stairs.
